Band Trailer
The BHS Band has an equipment trailer that must be hauled from the high school to Bill Brown Stadium for home football games, to away football games, to marching competitions in the fall, and to the concert and symphonic festivals in the winter. The instruments and supplies on the trailer are vital to any performance, so this is a critical responsibility.
The drumline is responsible for loading the trailer prior to an event. These students typically have been doing this for some time, so are aware of how things are to be placed in the trailer so it is not all packed high and heavy and comes tumbling out at the destination.
Typical load on the trailer includes the sousaphones, the drum kits, sideline cart and instruments, flags, conductor podiums, hat plume boxes, and first aid kits. Water and drink coolers will be taken care of by the Marching Band Food/Drinks Coordinators and be loaded on the trailer.
The trailer will be packed and ready for pick up around 4:00 p.m. on game days. It will be packed for competitions and festivals just before the buses depart. It is important to have the trailer at the stadium, competition, or festival location in a timely manner so it can be unloaded and the band be ready to warm up and perform at the proper time. When the event is over, the trailer is returned to its parking spot next to the band room entrance to the high school.
