Band Camp, Rehearsals, and Performances
There are rehearsals on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons (3-5 pm) on days that school is in session. This will continue through most of October.
There will be a few sessions just prior to the Blacksburg Christmas parade. Information on these practices will be available at a later date.
The schedule for the performances at football games and competitions is available. Please look at the schedule and determine now if you have a conflict. Every member is important to marching band. We depend on you to contribute to the musical quality and marching precision. If you inform the band director ahead of time of known conflicts, your absence will be excused. Because of the nature of the group, students that have one unexcused absence from a performance or two unexcused absences from rehearsal will be dropped from the group for the remainder of the year. The Blacksburg High School Marching Band is an Honor Band that every member is proud to be a part of. The school and community that we represent are also proud of the outstanding marching band. Excellence takes dedication and commitment to rehearsals and performances.
