Bedford County Invitational Results

The Blacksburg High School Marching Band participated in the Bedford County Invitational Band Festival at Jefferson Forest High School in Forest on Saturday, October 3, 2009. The band was moved up to class AAA to provide a second band in that class, along with George Washington High School from Danville. Blacksburg ended up placing second in all categories: Overall, Music, Marching, General Effect, Drum Major, Color Guard/Visual Ensemble. The band received an "Excellent" rating and placed third overall among the 14 bands that performed at the festival.

Mountain Magic Invitational, James River High School in Buchanan

October 4, 2008

The competition performance at the Mountain Magic Invitational on Oct. 4 at James River High School in Buchanan gained the band some awards:
3rd Place Band AA
1st Place Music AA
2nd Place Guard AA

1st Place Music Overall
3rd Place Band of the Day

Salem Festival

October 6, 2007

The band received First Place for Music Performance in Class III A and Second Place Overall in Class III A at the USSBA Central Virginia Regional festival in Salem on Saturday, Oct. 6.
